Your data and how to ask about it
Version 2026-10-27. A short guide for students, parents, tutors and centres.
Who to ask
| Your question is about | Ask |
|---|---|
| Your (or your child's) work, marks, attendance, fees, account or anything else your tuition centre keeps | Your tuition centre. It is responsible for that data. Its contact is in the Privacy notice shown when you sign in. |
| "Help improve Acadence", promotion consents, our website, or contact from us | Book In Chat: [email protected] |
| Not sure | Write to [email protected]. If it is the centre's data, we pass it to the centre and tell you we have. |
What you can ask for
- See your data, and how it was used or disclosed in the past year.
- Correct data that is wrong.
- Withdraw a consent. Optional consents, such as AI marking, can be withdrawn yourself at any time on your profile page under Policies and agreements. Your tutor then marks by hand.
- Turn off handwriting learning for a student: ask your centre.
- Get a copy when a centre leaves Acadence: the centre can ask us for an export for 30 days after it leaves.
Parents and guardians
If your child is under 13, you give and withdraw consents for them, and can ask for their data in the same way. A linked parent account shows released results and progress, and what the centre shares with parents about lessons, absences and fees. If your child is 13 to 17, you can still ask the centre about their data as the person acting for them; the centre may check with your child.
Time and cost
Requests are answered within 30 days, or you are told when they will be. A reasonable fee may be charged for an access request; you are told the amount first.
